The Surinamese Government held a grand gala to celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8 in the Independence Square.  President Venetiaan and First Lady, Vice President and Madame Sardjoe, together with guests from all walks of life attended the celebration.

Ambassador Su Ge and Madame Li Jing were invited for the celebration.  Madame Li received bouquets from the President as one of the five representatives of the diplomatic corps.  The President expressed in his speech appreciation for the female diplomats in Suriname for their contribution in enhancing the country’s external friendship.

The hosts and guests had cordial and friendly conversations.
