Your Excellency Mr Runaldo Venetiaan,
President of the Republic of Suriname

To consolidate and enhance the friendly relations and cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Mr Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, has appointed me Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Suriname, and recalled Mr. Su Ge upon completion of his mission. I have the honour to present to Your Excellency the letter accrediting me as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Suriname. On this occasion, I would like to convey to Your Excellency the greetings and compliments from His Excellency Mr Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China.

Since the independence in 1975, Suriname has made great achievements in political, economic and social developments acknowledged by the world. The influence of Suriname in the Caribbean region, Latin America and the whole world is getting bigger, and the position getting higer. China congratulates, appreciates and admires the achievements made by Suriname. We believe that your country, under the leadership of Your Excellency and with efforts of all the peoples of Suriname, will achieve even bigger accomplishments.

The tradition of friendship and cooperation between China and Suriname is of long standing. Before the independence of your country, the Chinese People and the Surinamese People had already friendly intercourse. China has contributed to the independence of Suriname and the construction afterwards within our power. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the bilateral relationship between our two countries has been developing smoothly, and hige-level communications going unceasingly. China appreciates for the support from Suriname on issues as human rights and Tibet. Especially on the "One China" issue, Suriname has bestowed great support to the cause of reunification of the Chinese People. China highly appreciates and thanks Suriname.

Your Excellency is an old friend of the Chinese People, and has made firm efforts to the friendship and cooperation between China and Suriname. The two visits of Your Excellency to China pushed the friendly cooperation between our two countries to a higher level. China appreciates Your Excellency for maintaining and promoting the bilateral relationship.

It is my great pleasure to be appointed the tenth Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Suriname. As soon as I stepped onto the land of your country, I deeply felt for myself the friendship of the Surinamese People to China. I will endeavour to fulfill my mission and to promote friendship and cooperation in policial, economic, cultural, social and other fields. I am looking forward to receiving understanding and support from Your Excellency and the Government of Suriname as I carry out my mission.
