Important notice on mutual visa exemption between China and Suriname

The Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Suriname on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, service passport, passports for public affairs and ordinary passports will enter into force on May 1st, 2021.

After the agreement enters into force, citizens of the Republic of Suriname, holding valid diplomatic, service or ordinary passports of the Republic of Suriname, shall be exempted from visa requirement for entry into, exit from or transit through the territory of China, for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days as of the date of entry. If the above-mentioned citizens intend to stay in the territory of China for a period of more than thirty (30) days or to study, reside, engage in employment, media activities or other activities there, which shall be approved in advance by Chinese competent authorities, shall apply for the visa before entering the territory of China.

In addition, please note that all Chinese and foreign passengers currently who are to fly from Suriname to China should take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests and then apply for a green health code before boarding the flights in both Suriname and the transit country, and follow the Covid-19 prevention and control measures of the place of entering into China.
