2022-07-02 09:45

    The COVID-19 pandemic is still raging globally, and the number of infections in Suriname has recently increased. The Chinese embassy in Suriname strongly advises against unnecessary international trips.

    All travelers going to China are required to get blue health codes before departure. Please closely following the instructions and requirements below:

1. All travelers setting off for China from Suriname must take two PCR tests within 48 hours of the planned flight time with two different institutions approved for COVID-19 PCR testing by the Surinamese government.

2. Of the two PCR tests required, the first test must be taken within 48 hours of the planned flight time (accurate to the minute). Once the test result is released, you need to apply for a health code to the Chinese embassy in Suriname on the subsequent website https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/, with the following documents:

● the negative PCR test result within 48 hours of the planned flight time;

● a photo of the passport first page;

● a flight itinerary;

● two PCR test results for proving recovery for those who have infected with COVID-19 (details see no. 5 below);

● a vaccination certificate, if vaccinated;

● a valid Surinamese residence permit, if a traveler is not a Surinamese citizen.

Applications should be submitted as soon as possible, thus allowing the embassy to have enough decision-making time. Delayed applications may render the issuance of health codes impossible.

3. the second PCR test must be taken within 24 hours of the planned flight time, the interval between the first and the second PCR tests must be over 24 hours, and the personal information on the 24-hour PCT test must match the passport information.

4. When checking-in, a traveler must present to the airline company the following documents:

● a valid blue health code;

● the negative 24-hour PCR test result.

5. If a traveler has contracted COVID-19, defined as having had any positive COVID-19 related test result (PCR, antigen, etc.) before, they need to fully recover before travel. A traveler is regarded as fully recovered when they: 1. have got two negative PCR test results after the infection, with the interval between the two tests over 24 hours; and 2. stays healthy in the next 14 consecutive days after the tests before applying for a health code, as no. 1-no. 4 instructed. Please submit the two PCR test results for proving recovery on the system.

6. If a traveler has had closed contact with COVID-19 cases, or has COVID-19 related symptoms, they need to monitor the health for 5 consecutive days before applying for a health code, as no. 1-no. 4 instructed. If their health stays sound, they may apply for blue health codes.

7. If a traveler transfers in another country, they need to apply for a heath code to the Chinese diplomatic mission responsible for that country/region of country during transfer. Please consult with its website attentively when planning the trip.

8. Please feel free to contact the Chinese embassy in Suriname if you have any question. +597-451-570; chnembassywang@gmail.com
