On 5th December, Mr. Shi Yuanqiang, Charge D’affaires a.i.of the Chinese Embassy in Suriname met with Mr. Leonard Johanns, Chairman of Suriname-China Friendship Association.

Mr. Shi commended the tremendous efforts made by Suriname-China Friendship Association to promote the friendly relations between China and Suriname and wished the association a greater success. Mr. Shi said that the Chinese embassy will provide continued assistance to the programs of the association and would also like to organize various activities together with the association to strengthen the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries in the future.

Mr. Johanns introduced the history of the association and shared his ideas about its development in the future. Mr. Johans stressed that Suriname-China Friendship Association will continue to encourage more and more Surinamese, especially young people, to participate in the activities held by the association and in this way promote the mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges between Suriname and China.
