Recently, U.S. Ambassador to Suriname Robert J. Faucher, in an interview with De West, made unwarranted comments on the China–Suriname “Safe City” cooperation project and groundlessly accused Chinese enterprises. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this.

The U.S. once again points fingers at the normal cooperation between China and Suriname, acting in a rude and disrespectful manner that shows a lack of respect for both countries. China has always been committed to safeguarding cybersecurity and carries out cooperation with Suriname in relevant fields based on the principle of mutual benefit and win–win results. With advanced technology and secure, efficient services, Chinese enterprises are welcomed by countries in the region, including Suriname. The U.S. smear campaign against Chinese enterprises, slander of Chinese technology, and attempts to pressure and restrict China–Suriname cooperation are unpopular and will ultimately prove futile.
