On September 26th, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Suriname held a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Ambassador Lin Ji, Vice President of Suriname H.E. Rusland, several Cabinet Ministers, members of the National Assembly, political party leaders, guests from various sectors of the Surinamese society, foreign diplomats accredited to Suriname, overseas Chinese, and representatives of Chinese companies in Suriname, over 350 people in total, attended the reception.

In his address, Ambassador Lin Ji reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made since the founding of the People's Republic of China and elaborated on the Global Governance Initiative. He stated that China is willing to work with Suriname to consolidate traditional friendship, explore cooperation potential, and promote greater development of the China-Suriname strategic cooperative partnership.

Vice President Rusland extended his congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He spoke highly of China's tremendous socio-economic development achievements and the bilateral relations between Suriname and China. He also appreciated the Global Governance Initiative proposed by China, expressing Suriname's willingness to deepen cooperation with China and elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.

The guests also viewed a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
