On October 5, 2025, Ambassador Lin Ji attended the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala of the Chinese community in Suriname held at the White Lotus Cultural Center. The event was attended by over one thousand guests, including Representative of President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons and Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of the President Mr. Sergio Akiemboto, Members of the National Assembly,  Chairman of the White Lotus Cultural Center Mr. Jeffrey Lau, several Surinamese ministers and parliamentarians, representatives of Chinese associations, and friends from various sectors of the Surinamese society.

  In his remarks, Ambassador Lin extended festive greetings to all Chinese nationals and descendants in Suriname and the guests present. He commended the Chinese community in Suriname for their hard work, entrepreneurship, and contributions to both their homeland and local society. He noted that the Chinese community has become an indispensable part of Suriname’s diverse society and an important witness and promoter of China–Suriname friendship. Ambassador Lin emphasized that China and Suriname have always been sincere friends and reliable partners, and expressed confidence that under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, the relations between China and Suriname will embrace broader prospects, richer substance, and stronger momentum.

  Mr. Akiemboto, speaking on behalf of President Simons, conveyed warm festive greetings to the Chinese community in Suriname. He acknowledged the important contributions made by the Chinese community to Suriname’s economic and social development, and encouraged all ethnic groups in the country to continue working together in unity and contributing to social progress.

  The gala featured a variety of captivating cultural performances presented by Chinese and local artists from diverse backgrounds. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, and the event concluded with a splendid fireworks display.
