On July1st, 2026, H.E. Lin Ji, Chinese Ambassador to Suriname, published a signed article titled "A Century-Old Ruling Party Leads China Toward National Rejuvenation" in the major Surinamese newspaper, De Ware Tijd. The full text is as follows:

This July marks the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). From just over 50 members in 1921, it has grown into the world's largest ruling party with over 100 million members. Over the past 105 years, the CPC has united and led the Chinese people in achieving national independence, economic development, and a steady rise in living standards, profoundly changing China's development path and contributing to global progress.
In 1949, under CPC leadership, the People's Republic of China was founded. In the early years of New China, China established a relatively complete industrial and economic system, laying an important foundation for later development.
Since reform and opening-up in 1978, China has continuously deepened reform and expanded opening-up under CPC leadership. The economy has grown rapidly, living standards have improved significantly, and China has become the world's second-largest economy, the largest manufacturing country, and the largest trader in goods, making important contributions to global growth. China has achieved two major “miracles”: rapid economic development and long-term social stability.
Since 2012, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. Facing complex international conditions and domestic development tasks, the CPC has strengthened governance capacity and promoted progress in economic growth, technological innovation, people's livelihood, and ecological protection.
Poverty alleviation has been a key priority. By the end of 2020, China eliminated absolute poverty, lifting nearly 100 million rural residents out of poverty. This is a historic achievement that also contributes to global poverty reduction and the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Innovation has become a core driving force of development. China has made major progress in manned space missions, the BeiDou navigation system, high-speed rail, new energy vehicles, and artificial intelligence. New energy vehicle production and sales have ranked first globally for several consecutive years, supporting global green transition.
People's wellbeing has been steadily improved. China has built the world's largest social security system, with basic medical insurance covering over 1.3 billion people and basic pension coverage exceeding 1 billion. It also has the world's largest education system, with a nine-year compulsory education completion rate above 95% and over 10 million university graduates each year. Forest coverage has exceeded 25%, reflecting continuous ecological improvement.
The CPC has also strengthened clean governance and administrative efficiency. Anti-corruption efforts have been continuously advanced, with improved supervision systems to ensure stricter accountability and greater transparency in the exercise of power, strengthening public trust and social stability.
China actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation, maintaining broad ties with political parties worldwide. It advocates true multilateralism and supports a more just and equitable global governance system. Initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative provide platforms for cooperation and contribute to connectivity, shared development, and global stability.
Over 105 years, the CPC has remained committed to improving national development and people's wellbeing, exploring a development path suited to China's conditions. China has transformed from poverty and weakness to prosperity and strength, and from relative isolation to greater global engagement. Looking ahead, the CPC will continue to lead the Chinese people in advancing modernization and realizing national rejuvenation, while working with all countries to promote peace, development, and shared prosperity.
